OR RNs are an integral part of the surgical team, providing essential nursing care to patients during surgical cases. Their role requires a high level of accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced surgical environment. OR RNs are responsible for ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care during surgery. Their ability to maintain a professional approach while providing nursing care is critical in ensuring positive patient outcomes while keeping patients and their families informed. Will work directly with surgeons, medical/surgical staff and post-acute caregivers to create comprehensive patient care from pre- to post-op. Full-Time Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
Surgi-Center of Central VA is a reputable multispecialty surgery center committed to providing exceptional patient care in a state-of-the-art facility. Our team of healthcare professionals is dedicated to delivering high-quality surgical care in a patient-centric environment.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our team. As an OR RN at Surgi-Center of Central VA, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic surgical setting with no weekends, no holidays, and no call required. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment and supplies are sterilized and ready.
- Provide direct patient care during surgical procedures, including monitoring vital signs and assisting the surgical team.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures, following aseptic techniques.
- Administer medications as prescribed by the surgeon.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, surgical techs, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient procedures.
- Act as a patient advocate, providing emotional support and education to patients and their families.
- Document patient information and procedures accurately in electronic health records.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and maintain infection control standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized surgical environment.

Required Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of VA.
- Recent experience in the operating room or perioperative nursing.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and sterile field maintenance.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure surgical situations.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to patient safety.
