Job Summary
Provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a registered nurse. Provides for personal care, comfort and assists with safe, clean environment, maintains equipment and supplies.
Salary Rate: $23.00
Monday - Friday, Varied 8 Hours
Required Skills:
Minimum Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of related healthcare experience.
Required License/Certifications
- BLS Certificate
Required Skills
- Ability to maintain collaborative working relationships to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
- Ability to plan and prioritize work with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge and proficiency of hospital information technology applications.
Essential Functions
- Answers patient call lights, makes rounds to assigned patients.
- Assists with simple dressing changes.
- Demonstrates the ability to type and write clear, concise notes, simple charting that reflects patient care given.
- Distributes water pitchers and other nourishments to patients.
- Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain or has other needs/concerns that cannot be met by PCT.
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Prepares patient rooms for admission.
- Removes trash and linen for housekeeping when needed.
- Provides general nursing care such as positioning patients, lifting and turning patients, transferring patients and assisting patients with ambulation.
- Prepares patients for meals; serves and removes food trays and assists with meals or feeds patients if necessary.
- Reports and when appropriate, records any changes observed in the condition or behavior of the patient.
- Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and intake-output.
- Other duties as assigned.
