Patient Care Technician at Baylor Scott & White Surgicare Centennial:
Provides direct patient care by assisting patients as needed with dressing, getting in and out of bed, ambulation, and transport. Maintains a clean and orderly patient care environment. Assists during patient examinations and procedures as needed. Obtains and records patient vital signs and reports results and observations. Assists in multiple areas within facility with the primary goal of efficiently providing surgical services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant or clinical training preferred
- One year experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories
- Patient Interviewing skills
- Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols
- Knowledge of patient evaluation procedures
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
- Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
