Certified Surgical Tech at Baylor Scott & White Surgicare Garland:
·Assists in providing individualized direct patient care in accordance with site policies and guidelines under the direction of a Registered Nurse in the OR area.
·The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team.
·Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments and equipment related to these procedures.
·Supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of the Surgery Center.
·Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.
·Experienced in the following specialties: ENT, General Surgery (Bariatrics), GI, Gynecology, Ophthalmology.
Qualifications
Education:
- Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program
·High school graduate or equivalent
Licensure/Certification:
- Certification in Surgical Technology required
- Current BLS
Required Experience:
·Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
·2 years’ previous clinical experience in an Operating Room environment is preferred
·General knowledge of policies & procedures specific to the Operating Room
·Strong customer service skills
·Ability to work as a team player
·Must be have good manual dexterity & the ability to respond quickly to emergency situations.
·Must be conscientious, self-motivated, organized and possess the ability to multi-task.
·Must stay abreast of new developments in your chosen field.
