Summit Ambulatory Surgery Centers’ Germantown location is conveniently located on the campus of Holy Cross Germantown Hospital off of Observation Drive between MD-355 Frederick Road and I-270.
Job Summary:
Directs, coordinates and controls the multi‐disciplinary activities for patients undergoing surgical intervention in a safe environment. Responsible for the interpretation, direction and evaluation of all ASC nursing practices to promote safe, efficient and therapeutically effective nursing care throughout the Center. Performs patient care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the ASC as required. Demonstrates the primary goal of
providing surgical services that exceed physician and patient customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations. Candidate will work in an incredibly collaborative manner with the Site Administrator and will possess outstanding leadership, communication (written & verbal), and organizational abilities.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a professional school of Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Current license as an RN in the State of Maryland
- Current certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Three years of Ambulatory Surgical Center or Hospital setting preferred.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office products including Excel.
- Experience using AllScripts or similar EMR preferred.
- Ability, knowledge, skills of a Staff Nurse who can function in all areas of the ASC.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving multiple variables in complex situations.
- Ability to understand the need for confidentiality in the work assigned.
- Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos (in English)
- Extensive knowledge of department supply items preferred.
- Experience using materials management related software.
- Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
- Skills to maintain effective communication with patients, physicians and ASC staff
- Must possess the ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Pay range: Min $53.00 - Max $68.90
(Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.)
