Full-Time Medical Office Assistant

Gastro One - 1310 is a state-of-the-art healthcare facility specializing in gastroenterology and endoscopy services. We are committed to providing exceptional patient care and outstanding customer service. We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our team in a role primarily focused on data entry and patient information management, while also providing front desk support as needed.

Position Overview

The Medical Office Assistant is responsible for accurately entering and maintaining patient information within multiple healthcare systems and databases. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent typing skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy.

In addition to data entry responsibilities, the Medical Office Assistant will assist with front desk operations, patient interactions, and administrative support as needed. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational abilities, intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency, and the ability to multitask effectively.

This position is 100% onsite and requires availability to begin work as early as 5:30 AM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter and update patient demographics, insurance information, medical histories, and other patient-related data into electronic systems.
  • Review information for completeness and accuracy while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain electronic patient records and documentation.
  • Support front desk operations, including greeting patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Scan, upload, and index patient documents into electronic medical records.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure accurate and timely data management.
  • Maintain productivity and accuracy standards while meeting established deadlines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous healthcare, medical office, administrative, or data entry experience preferred.
  • Strong typing and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy required.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and committed to providing excellent patient service.
  • Must be available to work onsite and start as early as 5:30 AM.
