Insurance Verifiers are an integral part of the surgical team, providing essential nursing care to patients during surgical cases. Their role requires a high level of accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced surgical environment. Insurance Verifiers are responsible for ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care during surgery. Their ability to maintain a professional approach while providing nursing care is critical in ensuring positive patient outcomes while keeping patients and their families informed. Will work directly with surgeons, medical/surgical staff and post-acute caregivers to create comprehensive patient care from pre- to post-op. Responsibilities
United Surgical Partners International is a company that specializes in the development and operation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities in the U.S. and the UK. We provide first-class surgical services for local communities and recognize our employees as our number one assets. Under the general supervision of the Business Office Manager, the Insurance Coordinator (or verifier) verifies insurance benefits and determines co-pay based on insurance contracts. Candidate will enjoy positive interaction with patients, insurance providers and the clinical staff.
Mountain View Surgery Center of Glendale is looking for a Insurance Verifier.
While preforming this role some of your job duties will include;
- Contact patients regarding money due, procedure being performed, and site of surgery prior to date of surgery.
- Verify insurance benefits by reviewing our contract and patient’s quoted benefits.
- Determine co-pay, and post all insurance and billing comments.
- Enter all information into patient accounting system.
- Begin chart and pre-admission process. Reviewing and confirming patient information.
- As well as, follow standards, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for business office according to accepted standards.
Physical demands require employee to sit and answer the phone for extended periods of time. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate should;
- Have the ability to understand the unique needs of each age group of the patient population.
- Be Team-Oriented.
- Be flexible, reliable, productive, patient-oriented, and self-motivated.
- Have a basic computer and typing knowledge/understanding.
- Have the ability to learn new things and adapt as needed.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Have ability to effectively present information to patients, physicians, and other employees of surgery center.
- Possesses basic math skills.
Required Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. One to three months of related experience and/or training. Or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
