Preadmission RN - PTs are an integral part of the surgical team, providing essential nursing care to patients during surgical cases. Their role requires a high level of accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced surgical environment. Preadmission RN - PTs are responsible for ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care during surgery. Their ability to maintain a professional approach while providing nursing care is critical in ensuring positive patient outcomes while keeping patients and their families informed. Will work directly with surgeons, medical/surgical staff and post-acute caregivers to create comprehensive patient care from pre- to post-op. Responsibilities
Golden Ridge Ortho Center is seeking a qualified Preadmission Registered Nurse.
JOB DUTIES:
- Delivers indirect and direct patient care according to established standards, taking into consideration the age and risk factors of the patient.
- Plans and prepares for the pre-admission of the patient.
- Plans and provides patient care based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policies, protocols and procedures.
- Assesses the needs of the patient while providing for safe and optimum care.
- Demonstrates adherence to legal guidelines as related to patient care.
- Assumes supervision of nursing care provisions within an assigned nursing unit during an assigned shift.

Required Experience:
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred
Licensure/Certification
- Current Texas RN License
- Current BLS, must get ACLS within 6 months of hire
Specific Job Experience
- Minimum one (1) year experience in surgery or has completed a specialty class for the clinical RN
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient.
- Demonstrates discretionary ability in establishing priority.
- Uses nursing judgment in decision-making
- Able to recognize and intervene in stressful situations and perform effectively in stressful situations to fulfill position responsibilities
