Medical Assistant

Gastroenterology East, P.A. & Endoscopy Center is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join our growing outpatient gastroenterology practice. This role supports clinical and operational workflows while delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a fast‑paced endoscopy setting.

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to physicians and nursing staff, assists with patient flow and procedure room readiness, and ensures a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for patients undergoing outpatient GI procedures.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing procedure room(s) to ensure the rooms are prepped and ready for patients, including room turnovers, stocking supplies, cleaning, etc.
  • Managing patient flow to/from procedure room(s), and assists with patient positioning for procedures
  • Demonstrates the primary goal of efficiency, while providing services that exceed customer expectations, and improving clinical and financial operations
  • Assists with patient care within the MA scope of practice
  • Pulls case materials and stages in appropriate areas
  • Understands principles of aseptic sterile technique and their implementation
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • BLS certification required
  • Completion of Medical Assistant, CNA, or Patient Care Technician training
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical or patient care setting preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
  • Strong communication skills and adaptability to change
