Job Summary: The ideal candidate will work as an Accounts Receivable Clerk and float to cover any aspect of the business office necessary. Many duties includes, scheduling, insurance verification, financial counseling, patient calls and chart building. Successful candidate will possess outstanding multi tasking abilities, communication and teamwork as well as the ability to keep up in a fast paced working environment. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate previous successful/positive customer service encounters or programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Extensive knowledge of eligibility claims, reimbursement, collection and appeal efforts for Managed Care, Medicaid, Medicare, Commercial, Work Comp, Liens and patient liability.
- Answers and directs incoming calls in an efficient, effective and professional manner
- Detail orientated and strong organizational skills
- Understanding of insurance contracts, contract language, fee schedules and denial reasons
- Ability to identify necessary adjustment/write offs per USPI policy and surgery center guidelines.
- Works claims rejections and denials through practice management software and clearinghouse
- Must be a team player and able to work well with others (this includes internal and external customers)
- Attends Business Office huddles/meetings and participates on any committees when requested
- Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:
- Minimum 1-2 years of hospital or medical office experience required.
- Experience in accounting and math skills.
- Excellent and professional communication.
- Ability to use time wisely in preparing work area to meet high-paced demand.
- Extreme multi- tasker
- Adaptable to change
- Strong medical terminology.
- Must demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills.
