TOPS Surgical Specialty Hospital, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking a dedicated FPRN Unit Clerk to join our esteemed team. You will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to our patients, while upholding our core beliefs of value, integrity, continuity, accessibility, and community engagement. 

Job Summary: Responsible for daily systems operation and system maintenance activities of Breast center and Hospital. The ability to support system applications, workflow and the clinical use of images in server environments. Supports all 4 TOPS Comprehensive Breast Centers, but will be based out of the Red Oak Breast Center location.

  • Troubleshooting technical issues with software and hardware, networks, phone systems and clinical systems
  • Takes initiative to solve and prevent problems that will impact the facilities ability to safely deliver patient care or impact revenue
  • Providing technical support for software including but not limited to Windows, eFax, and office.
  • Providing software support for locally hosted applications as well as key systems such as electronic health records
  • Participates in development of Policies and Procedures within the department.
  • Perform all Systems Specialist procedures as written in Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • Perform high-quality work.
  • First level support to IT Manager
  • Work closely with TOPS IT Manager, USPI support staff, Network Troubleshooting and Problem-solving, including factors related to network connection, data transfer performance, etc.
  • Assist IT Manager with Vendor and USPI IT Support staff to ensure primary and secondary back up storage management is adequate and is in secure place. Assist IT Manager in planning for future needs.
  • Security support includes badge creation, reader maintenance and camera maintenance.
  • Work ticket submission for facility needs.
  • Connectivity wired and wireless first level support
  • Manage/maintain phone connectivity from first level support for facility.
  • Adding/Changing/Deleting users on PACS server and PenRad, including putting new users into appropriate user groups, granting appropriate permissions, changing user’s profiles, deleting users; maintaining appropriate documentation for all PACS user management functions.
  • Perform quality control functions related to systems as required. Example: daily fax log.
  • Supports system users with operational problems by resolving issues and concerns using internal and external resources.
  • Research, identifies and makes recommendations to address and resolve operational problems. Works closely with department managers/supervisors, information technology personnel, another facility staff as needed and acts as a liaison. Focus on performance improvement and quality management.
  • Monitor unmatched studies and correcting studies using appropriate operations, when images are in the wrong study, when the study belongs in the wrong patient; when patient merge, study re-allocation, or image re-allocation is required.
  • Correcting study using Patient Management Tool, when patient information is wrong; and for creating new patients, changing patient information.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and notify vendors and all pertinent team members in a timely manner and provide updates on equipment status.
  • Adheres to Policies and Procedures as defined by Infection Control.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of medical records to include completing documentation for incomings CD’s, uploading discs, logging imaging exams in the system, and requesting medical records as needed.
  • Maintain continuity of work operations by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Communicate problems according to established procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the various computer systems used at facility.
  • Provide training for new and ongoing users.
  • Daily verification that multiple computer systems are functioning properly i.e. DR system, PenRad, Open DOCS, and phone system throughout facility.
  • Working with IT Manager and USPI IT Support staff to notify and coordinate installations with Vendor personnel when adding new devices (purchased workstations, servers, and archives etc., supplied by Vendor), moving or removing vendor supplied hardware, adding new purchased workstation licenses, database license, DICOM license, RIS interface license, when move/changes to modalities, connections and software/hardware updates are being made to include etc.
  • Assists in installing and setup workstation hardware supplied by the organization, including physician PCs.
  • Assist in maintaining phone system, voicemail, on-hold message services, and all related items.
  • Assists with research
  • Adhering to IT support processes and security requirements
  • Plans, prepare presentations, set up and provide necessary documentation for Breast Conference.
  • Serves as a resource to other members of the health care team.
  • Act in accordance with the vision, mission and business philosophy of TOPS
  • Maintain patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality per policy
  • Follow TOPS professional conduct and dress code policy
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians and their office staffs, patients and employees.
  • Assists with other responsibilities of TOPS as deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED certification
One year of experience in a hospital or customer service setting
CPR certification
The understanding of HIPAA and security protocols to protect PHI is a requirement 
Proficient typing/keyboard skills
Can handle rapidly changing priorities while being patient and flexible 
Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication in American English
