Business Office Manager

The Business Office Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the business office, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory and company standards. This role plays a critical part in supporting the overall financial health of the center and delivering a positive patient experience. This position offers an excellent opportunity for leadership in a dynamic, patient-centered environment.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the business office, including billing, collections, scheduling, and registration.
  • Manage and supervise business office staff, providing leadership, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of insurance verification, pre-certifications, and payment posting.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to improve workflow efficiency and patient experience.
  • Monitor revenue cycle processes and implement strategies to optimize collections and reduce denials.
  • Prepare and analyze financial and operational reports for leadership review.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding billing inquiries and financial counseling.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and ensure exceptional service delivery.

Required Skills:
  • Strong understanding of revenue cycle management and healthcare billing processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and practice management software.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

Required Experience:
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a healthcare business office.
  • Knowledge of billing, collections, and insurance verification processes.
  • Experience in an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) setting.
  • Hands-on experience with payer contracts and reimbursement methodologies.
