Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join our growing team. As a key member of our cardiovascular care team, the RN will support diagnostic and interventional procedures, provide critical nursing care throughout the cardiac catheterization process, and ensure a safe and smooth patient experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians during cardiac and peripheral catheterization procedures, including angiograms, angioplasties, and stent placements
  • Monitor patient status pre-, intra-, and post-procedure, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and sedation levels
  • Administer medications and moderate sedation per physician orders and hospital protocol
  • Ensure accurate documentation of procedures, medications, and patient outcomes
  • Maintain sterile technique and assist with preparation and setup of all equipment
  • Respond to emergency situations using critical thinking and ACLS protocols
  • Educate patients and families on procedure expectations and post-procedure care
  • Collaborate closely with cardiologists, radiology techs, and other healthcare staff to ensure seamless care delivery

Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Cath Lab, ICU, ER, or critical care experience (Cath Lab preferred)
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity procedural setting

Required Skills:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN) from an accredited program
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Additional certifications (e.g., PALS, NIH Stroke Scale) considered a plus
  • Proficient with Cath Lab equipment and sterile technique protocols
  • Skilled in administering moderate sedation and monitoring patient responses
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as EPIC or equivalent
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond quickly in high-acuity environments
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, techs, and nursing staff
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and clinical priorities

Required Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Cath Lab, ICU, ER, or critical care setting
  • Assisting with cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, and stent placements
  • Hemodynamic monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
  • Providing pre- and post-procedure patient education and support
  • Responding rapidly to changes in patient condition during procedures and recovery
