Responsibilities
Memorial Hermann Surgery Center, Southwest is a premier outpatient surgical facility dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a safe and efficient environment. Our facility specializes in a variety of surgical procedures and is committed to excellence, innovation, and compassionate service.
We are seeking a Certified Surgical Scrub Tech SPD with experience in both scrub tech duties and sterile processing to join our PRN team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and passionate about maintaining the highest standards of surgical support and instrument sterilization.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
- Ensure all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized, maintained, and stored
- Assist surgical team by anticipating needs during procedures
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control policies
- Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments
- Monitor sterilizer cycles and document quality assurance checks
- Support room turnover and restocking of surgical supplies
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and SPD staff to ensure seamless operations
- Follow all facility policies, safety regulations, and accreditation standards
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile processing practices
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
Required Experience:
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required
- Prior experience in sterile processing and surgical scrubbing preferred
- BLS certification required
- Experience in an outpatient or ambulatory surgery center setting is a plus
