Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and service-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team at TOPS Surgical Specialty Hospital. This role is essential to the daily operations of our dietary department, supporting both patients and staff through the preparation and service of nutritious meals in a clean and safe environment. The ideal candidate will be team-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of food safety and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, serve, and deliver meals to patients and staff according to daily menus and dietary guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and food service areas, following all food safety regulations.
- Assist in ordering, receiving, and organizing food and supply inventory.
- Follow all directions provided by the Dietary Manager and Consultant Dietitian regarding meal preparation, sanitation, and department operations.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and health department standards.
- Collaborate with nursing and other departments to support patient meal needs and preferences.
- Keep accurate records related to food safety, inventory, and meal service.
- Maintain a valid Food Handler’s Permit and adhere to facility and state guidelines.

Required Experience:
- Previous experience in a healthcare food service or kitchen environment preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid Texas Food Handler’s Permit required (or willingness to obtain prior to start).
- Ability to stand, lift, and move throughout shifts as required.
