Memorial Hermann Surgery Center – Memorial Village is looking to add a full-time Medical Records Coordinator to our team. This position plays a key role in ensuring complete and compliant patient documentation across all departments. We’re seeking someone who’s highly organized, detail-focused, and confident navigating EMR systems in a busy outpatient setting. If you’re someone who enjoys structured work, supporting clinical operations behind the scenes, and being part of a tight-knit care team, we’d love to meet you.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA and ASC standards
  • Track and follow up on incomplete documentation or outstanding physician signatures
  • File and scan medical documents accurately into electronic medical record systems
  • Respond to requests for medical records from patients, physicians, and authorized parties
  • Prepare charts for daily surgical cases and ensure proper documentation is completed
  • Support chart audits, quality assurance activities, and accreditation readiness
  • Coordinate with clinical and business office teams to support overall patient documentation workflow
  • Maintain confidentiality and securely handle sensitive patient information
  • Assist with general administrative tasks or special projects as needed

Required Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable with data entry and scanning/file management
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Proactive problem-solving and follow-up
  • Team-oriented and flexible to support daily clinical needs

Required Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting, medical records, or health information management
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (HST or similar preferred)
  • Experience handling HIPAA-protected information in a professional setting
