USPI Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital Kingwood, is seeking a motivated MRI Tech to join our team. Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital Kingwood is a fast-paced ASC environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families. 

Job Summary: Performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies in accordance with hospital guidelines. Responsible for operating all systems for routine studies and performing all duties related to scanning and image processing. Consistently follows proper patient screening/care protocols and provides accurate documentation associated with each exam while supporting expedited patient throughput and diagnosis.

1. Independently performs high quality diagnostic studies on all systems according to specified protocols for routine studies.
2. Ensures all documentation is complete and accurate, including that associated with patient billing.
3. Properly reviews patient medical information prior to imaging, assists in patient teachings while demonstrating empathy and monitors each patient to ensure quality patient care. Responsibly communicates information concerning patient exams to Radiologists and attending physicians.
4. Practices efficient scanning techniques in support of optimized patient throughput and diagnosis. Assures proper use of magnet time on a consistent basis.
5. Assists in orienting, training and monitoring new employees in all aspects of the equipment, MRI, Radiology and the hospital with a focus on safety and efficiency.
6. Will maintain a suitable working rapport with co-workers and hospital personnel.
7. Maintains appropriate levels of in-services, continuing education and training in support of overall competency, safety, and technologist qualifications, especially as related to departmental American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation. Familiar with and adheres to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
8. Will remain compliant in efforts to continuously present a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment that supports and maintains patient dignity, quality care, and improved safety for all. Individually commits to the effective management of the MRI environment (departmental suites, equipment, and people), which includes using processes and activities to reduce and control environmental hazards and risks, preventing accidents and injuries, maintaining safe conditions for all, and reducing the risk of transmitting communicable infections among patients, staff, students, visitors and others. Practices excellent hand hygiene and maintains a record of successful workplace inspections.
9. Demonstrates the components of the EDGE values statement.
10. Follows all safety rules while on the job. Reports accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards. Consistently applies MR safety procedures in accordance with prescribed standards for any individual entering the magnetic field.

Required Skills:

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • One year experience required.
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiological Technology.
  • Active state license and ARRT license required upon hire.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification required
  • Knowledgeable of local, state, federal and Joint Commission Regulations.
  • Must possess independent decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with the staff, physicians, patients and families.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way.
