Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room (OR) Manager to lead and oversee our perioperative services team. The OR Manager will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the surgical department, including staff supervision, resource management, compliance, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for the OR team, including nurses, techs, and support staff.
  • Oversee daily operations of the surgical suite, ensuring efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Manage staffing schedules, recruitment, training, and performance evaluations for OR personnel.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and administrative staff to optimize workflows and patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and manage budgets, supply inventory, and equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with all accreditation and quality standards (CMS, AAAHC, etc.).

Required Skills:
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and surgical procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and surgical scheduling systems.

Required Experience:
  • Current RN license in the state of Texas is required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred; an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of operating room nursing experience is required.
  • Previous management or leadership experience in a surgical setting is preferred.
  • BLS certification is required; CNOR certification is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
