We’re currently seeking a per-diem OR Scheduler to join our team. This individual will play a vital role in ensuring seamless coordination of surgical cases and supporting efficient daily operations in the OR.
What You’ll Do:
- Schedule surgical procedures in coordination with physicians’ offices, OR staff, and pre-op teams
- Verify surgery times, patient information, required equipment, and case-specific needs
- Monitor and manage OR block time and ensure optimal utilization of operating rooms
- Confirm accurate documentation and obtain necessary pre-op clearances
- Communicate updates and changes promptly to all impacted departments
- Maintain the surgery schedule in the hospital’s EMR and scheduling systems
- Provide outstanding service to patients, physicians, and clinical staff in a fast-paced setting

Required Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Clear and effective communication, both verbal and written
- High attention to detail and accuracy under pressure
- Ability to multitask and manage frequent changes to scheduling
- Team player with a positive, professional attitude
Required Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in surgical scheduling preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 codes, and surgical procedures
- Familiarity with EHR systems and scheduling software (e.g., Cerner, Epic, SIS)
- Previous experience in a hospital, surgical center, or physician office setting preferred
