Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our team at North Houston Endoscopy & Surgery. In this role, you’ll be a key part of our surgical recovery process, assisting clinical staff and providing direct patient support to ensure safe, smooth recoveries after procedures. The ideal candidate brings compassion, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit to our high-performing healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living in the post-operative phase.
- Provide basic nursing care under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Support the clinical team in maintaining a clean, safe environment.
- Assist with patient transport, monitoring, and discharge readiness.
- Maintain accurate patient records and follow established recovery protocols.

Required Skills:
- Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories
- Patient interviewing skills
- Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols
- Familiarity with patient evaluation procedures
- Ability to perform routine invasive procedures such as venipuncture and EKG
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Adapts quickly to change; strong knowledge base related to surgical and recovery care
- Understands and applies principles of aseptic technique
Required Experience:
- One year of relevant experience is preferred
- Prior experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is a plus
