Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate PACU Registered Nurse (PRN) to join our surgical team. The PACU RN is responsible for providing high-quality post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical procedures. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia care, including monitoring vital signs, pain management, and ensuring patient stability.

  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized nursing care for post-surgical patients.

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

  • Educate patients and their families on post-operative care instructions.

  • Collaborate with anesthesia providers and surgical teams to ensure seamless patient recovery.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

  • Respond promptly to any complications or emergencies in the PACU.

Required Skills:

Required Experience:
  • Active RN license in the state of Texas required.
  • American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required upon hire.
  • Minimum of 1 year of PACU, ICU, or critical care nursing experience preferred.
  • Experience in an ambulatory surgery center or outpatient setting is a plus.
