Memorial Hermann Surgery Center, Southwest is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Nurse with experience in outpatient clinical environments — ideally with exposure to GI/endoscopy workflows — to join our team in a full-time capacity.

We are a collaborative joint venture between United Surgical Partners International (USPI), Memorial Hermann Health System, and physician partners, delivering efficient, patient-centered surgical care in a same-day setting. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine your clinical knowledge and passion for quality improvement to support excellence across our surgery center, including our high-performing endoscopy suite.


About the Role

The Quality Nurse will play a key role in driving clinical performance, maintaining accreditation standards, and enhancing infection prevention and compliance efforts across the center. This position includes light oversight of the endoscopy suite’s documentation, scope protocols, and process audits — making it ideal for a nurse with experience in GI procedures or interest in clinical operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate quality assurance initiatives, including QAPI participation, regulatory readiness, and policy updates
  • Support infection prevention processes and track compliance with sterilization protocols
  • Monitor scope handling documentation, loaner tracking, and equipment maintenance reports
  • Conduct internal audits and assist with survey preparation (AAAHC, CMS, State)
  • Provide support in staff education, clinical competencies, and best practice implementation
  • Partner with leadership to identify and execute performance improvement opportunities
  • Assist with data collection, incident tracking, and reporting for peer review and governance
  • Serve as a liaison between endoscopy, nursing, and administrative teams to promote efficient, compliant workflows


Requirements

  • Current RN license in the state of Texas
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience in an ambulatory, hospital, or procedural setting
  • Experience with quality assurance, compliance, or infection prevention preferred
  • Basic understanding of GI/endoscopy procedures or scope processing workflows
  • Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred

Required Skills:
  • Strong understanding of GI/endoscopy procedures and infection prevention practices
  • Familiarity with scope tracking systems and quality assurance documentation
  • Knowledge of AAAHC, CMS, and other regulatory/accreditation requirements
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead and educate clinical teams in best practices and compliance

Required Experience:
  • Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an endoscopy or perioperative setting
  • Leadership, charge, or coordinator experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with quality assurance or regulatory compliance is highly desirable
  • Current Texas RN or LVN license OR GI Tech/Sterile Processing certification
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
