Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Post-Surgical Unit (PSU) Registered Nurse, per-diem (PRN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, ensuring optimal recovery outcomes for post-surgical patients. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering compassionate care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to post-surgical patients, monitoring their recovery and addressing any complications.
  • Administer medications, including IV therapy, in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
  • Assess, monitor, and document patient vital signs, pain levels, and overall progress.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on post-operative care, medications, and discharge instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
  • Assist with post-operative pain management and provide emotional support to patients.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide critical interventions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Required Experience:
  • Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in an acute care, PACU, or post-surgical setting preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
  • Experience with pain management and post-operative care strongly preferred.
