Houston, Texas North Houston Endoscopy & Surgery (11026)North Houston Endoscopy & Surgery, located in Houston, Texas, is an advanced outpatient surgery center dedicated to delivering high-quality surgical care in a safe, efficient, and patient-focused environment. As part of United Surgical Partners International (USPI), we specialize in a wide range of procedures with a strong commitment to safety, service, and excellent clinical outcomes.
We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our perioperative team. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced surgical setting and is passionate about supporting patients through every stage of their surgical experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and monitor vital signs before, during, or after surgery depending on assigned area (PreOp, OR, or PACU)
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to coordinate care and ensure patient safety
- Educate patients and families on procedures, anesthesia, and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with standards and regulations
- Support quality assurance, infection control, and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Texas RN license
- BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred (or willingness to obtain within designated timeframe)
- Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical nursing experience in a surgical, critical care, or perioperative setting preferred
- Strong assessment and IV therapy skills

Required Skills:
- Strong assessment and critical-thinking abilities in pre-op and recovery settings
- Proficient in patient monitoring, including vitals, sedation recovery, and pain management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety protocols
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- EMR proficiency and accurate clinical documentation
- Competence in IV placement, medication administration, and emergency response
Required Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current RN license in the state of Texas (required)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- 1–3 years of clinical nursing experience preferred, ideally in Pre-Op, PACU, or ambulatory surgery
- Experience in GI/endoscopy procedures is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate care in a high-acuity outpatient setting
- Proven track record of working collaboratively with surgical and anesthesia teams
