Overview
RN PACUs are an integral part of the surgical team, providing essential nursing care to patients during surgical cases. Their role requires a high level of accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced surgical environment. RN PACUs are responsible for ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care during surgery. Their ability to maintain a professional approach while providing nursing care is critical in ensuring positive patient outcomes while keeping patients and their families informed. Will work directly with surgeons, medical/surgical staff and post-acute caregivers to create comprehensive patient care from pre- to post-op. Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated RN PACU to join our team at North Houston Endoscopy & Surgery. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring seamless surgical and patient care operations. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering high-quality care, has a strong attention to detail, and thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients' condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all time
- Assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate.
- Responsible for providing total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation
- Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

- Ability to organize and follow through on own initiative.
- Ability to master new skills.
- Technical/Functional
- Thorough knowledge of all phases of perioperative process including knowledge of surgical procedures and anesthesia implications.
- Current nursing assessment and patient care skills.
- Telemetry experience necessary
Experience Required
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Currently licensed in the state
- Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
- Minimum of 2 years experience in PACU or ICU
