Overview
GI RN PRN s are an integral part of the surgical team, providing essential nursing care to patients during surgical cases. Their role requires a high level of accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced surgical environment. GI RN PRN s are responsible for ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care during surgery. Their ability to maintain a professional approach while providing nursing care is critical in ensuring positive patient outcomes while keeping patients and their families informed. Will work directly with surgeons, medical/surgical staff and post-acute caregivers to create comprehensive patient care from pre- to post-op. Responsibilities
Welcome to Tuscan Surgery Center at Las Colinas, where we strive to provide a top class surgical experience through exemplary patient care with some of the best physicians and nurses in the DFW Metroplex.
The GI RN at Tuscan Surgery Center at Las Colinas
- Prepares patients, equipment and room for Endoscopy procedures.
- Assists physicians with Endoscopy procedures per the SGNA guidelines. Specialized knowledge, experience and training is required for endoscope manipulation under the direction of the physician.
- Knows and adheres to policies of the Center and demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
- Follows standards, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for Endoscopy nursing care according to accepted standards.
- Maintains and demonstrates current skills and knowledge of Endoscopy procedures and techniques.
- Provides multi-dimensional care for assigned patients. Includes patient care in the pre-operative holding area, care in the Endoscopy suite, and care for the patient in the PACU.
- Contact by way of telephone patients scheduled for endoscopy procedures to assess medical and medication history. Reviews with PAT nurse for any labs, x-rays, or EKG’s needed.

Requirements:
- Minimum one year of experience in Endoscopy (GI)
- Experience is required for endoscope manipulation under the direction of the physician.
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Currently licensed by the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas
- General familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and procedures for an endoscopy procedure room.
