Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas is seeking a qualified Supervisor PreOp/PACU/PAT to join our team!

Supervisor PreOp/PACU/PAT at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas:

  • The Supervisor of Pre-Op, PACU, and Pre-Admission Testing oversees the day-to-day clinical and some administrative operations of the Pre-Operative (Pre-Op), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Pre-Admission Testing areas.
  • The Supervisor ensures that all units operate smoothly, delivering high-quality care to patients while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Reporting directly to the Manager of Perioperative Services, this position plays a key role in coordinating patient flow, staffing, and collaboration between departments to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Required Skills:

Education:

·Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field required;

·Master’s degree preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

·Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license required.

·BLS, PALS, and ACLS certification required.

Required Experience:

Required Experience:

·Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in perioperative services, PACU, or a related area, with at least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Skills:

·Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.

·Proficient in managing teams and resolving conflicts.

·Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.

·Knowledge of surgical care protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory compliance.

·Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Key Responsibilities:

·Clinical Oversight:
Supervise the daily operations of Pre-Op, PACU, and Pre-Admission Testing, ensuring efficient patient care delivery that aligns with organizational policies and safety standards.

·Staff Management:
Lead, mentor, and evaluate clinical and support staff within these units. Ensure appropriate staffing levels by managing schedules, overseeing training, and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

·Patient Care Coordination:
Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive timely, safe, and effective care before and after surgery. Manage the flow of patients between departments to minimize delays and optimize care transitions.

·Performance and Quality Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement in patient care and workflow processes. Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction, reduce risk, and ensure adherence to accreditation standards.

·Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal policies. Stay current with industry best practices and standards, ensuring the team’s practices meet required benchmarks.

·Collaboration and Communication:
Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, administrative personnel, the Manager, and the Director of Perioperative Services. Communicate operational updates, challenges, and successes effectively, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals.

·Administrative Duties:
Assist with productivity management, resource allocation, and supply chain needs for the departments. Monitor and track key performance metrics, prepare reports, and present findings to the Manager and Director as needed.

·Patient Safety and Risk Management:
Promote and enforce policies and procedures that prioritize patient safety and minimize risks, including infection control measures and medication administration guidelines.
