Responsibilities
Surgery Center at Jensen Beach; is seeking a motivated Medical Assistant, FT to join our team. Surgery Center of Jensen Beach is a fast paced ASC environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Knowledge of medical office procedures.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type patient information.
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures, and make changes accurately.
- Skill in operating a computer, copy machine, and fax.
- Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instruction.
- Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetical or numeric systems.
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
- Prepares exam rooms in the clinical area for patient care daily, including stocking of all necessary supplies.
- Escorts patients to exam rooms, taking the required vital signs and obtaining urine specimens; performing dip and automated urinalysis and microscopic preparation and review when indicated.
Required Skills:
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS CERTIFICATE / LICENSE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certificate from an accredited program for Medical Assistants or RMA certification preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- Two-year work experience in a medical office setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Word processing and computer experience. Accuracy more important than speed.
