Registration/Collector at Holston Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center
As a Full-Time Registrar, your primary responsibility will be to handle Payment Posting and Collections while also managing patient registration tasks. You will serve as the first point of contact for our patients and their families, creating a positive first impression and ensuring that all administrative tasks are efficiently executed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately post payments and adjustments to patient accounts, ensuring proper documentation.
- Process insurance claims and follow up on unpaid or denied claims to ensure timely resolution.
- Manage patient balances, initiating collection efforts for overdue accounts and working with patients on payment arrangements.
- Resolve billing discrepancies with insurance companies to ensure accurate reimbursements.
- Maintain detailed records of all payment and collection activities.
- Greet and assist patients and their families, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Accurately register patients, verify insurance information, and update patient records.
- Answer patient inquiries regarding the surgery process, financial details, and payment options.
- Ensure all necessary forms and consents are completed and signed by patients.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to facilitate a smooth intake process.
- Assist with scheduling and appointment coordination as needed.

Required Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Previous front desk/registration experience in a healthcare setting is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance verification is a plus.
- Proficiency in computer applications and data entry.
- Longevity in past roles.
