We are currently seeking a FT Preoperative and PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. As a Preoperative and PACU RN, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of patients through the perioperative process, from preoperative assessment to post-anesthesia care.
Responsibilities:
Perform preoperative assessments, including reviewing medical histories and conducting physical assessments.
Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Monitor and document patient vital signs and conditions throughout the perioperative period.
Provide post-anesthesia care in the PACU, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Assess and manage pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms.
Ensure patient and family education regarding post-operative care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
- Active RN license in the state
- BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
- 2 years experience in PreOp, PACU or Critical Care required
- Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
- Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
