USPI Durango Outpatient Surgery Center is seeking a motivated Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our team.Durango Outpatient Surgery Center is a fast-paced Ambulatory Surgery Center committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.  Our mission is to provide first-class surgical services to the local community in a safe, comfortable, welcoming environment, one in which we would be happy to treat our own families. We have 5 operating rooms offering a full range of surgical procedures including: Bariatrics, Colorectal, General Surgery/Robotics, GI, OB/Gynecology, Sports Medicine, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Podiatry, and Spine.

Job Summary: Provides direct patient care by assisting patients with changing linens, ambulation, and transport. Maintains a clean and orderly patient care environment.  Demonstrates the primary goal of efficiently providing surgical services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations.

Monday-Friday work schedule

NO call required

NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO Holiday work hours

Required Skills:

High School diploma or GED

Medical Assistant or clinical training preferred
1+ year experience in direct patient care
Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories
Patient Interviewing skills
Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols
Knowledge of patient evaluation procedures
Ability to perform routine invasive procedures, such as venipuncture, and EKG
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation

Physical Demands: Shall be physically able to stand, walk, and maintain varied body motions and positions for long periods of time. Demonstrates manual dexterity. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee shall be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or tools. The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Shall be able to hear and speak. Shall be able to move up to 100 pounds.
