We are looking for a Patient Services Representative at the Colorado Urologic Surgery Center located in Lone Tree, CO. 

Job Summary: This position exists to support the business office functions for patient services. This person is required to be the patient representative and is often the first on-site contact the patient has with the Center.The Patient Services Representative should have excellent people handling skills and a high degree of accuracy in obtaining and recording information.This person shall be organized.May be delegated additional responsibilities or special assignments by the Business Office Manager or Coordinator.

Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Regional Business Office Manager.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following.Other duties may be assigned:

1.Greets and sees to the needs of the patients and families.

2.Admits patients by obtaining insurance information, copies of insurance cards, patient signatures, and collects the amounts to cover the patient’s portion of financial responsibility. 

3.Enters the patients’ insurance information accurately in the computer system to produce a clean claim form.Maintains an error rate of less than 2%.

4.Maintains the daily receipt journal, prepares receipts for cash, check or credit card, and ensures the patient has a copy.Submits the journal for posting daily.

5.Prepares patient charts

6.Schedules procedures in the patient accounting system, confirming cases with the physician offices. Identifies special needs, and determines any changes that should take place. 

7.Helps with coordination of centers schedule and identifies and communicates solutions that improve scheduling efficiency. 

8.Proactively reaches out to office schedulers to identify additional cases that could be scheduled. 

9.Works with leadership team coordinating and communicating scheduling issues, instruments, equipment, supplies, anesthesia and staffing requests for each procedure, including understanding limitations and requirements. 

10.Receives, screens, and routes incoming calls in a professional manner by the third ring.

11.Assists in continuous quality improvement processes.

12.Seeks involvement in activities that promote professional growth and behavior, and promotes and assists employees in the same.

13.Informs Business Office Manager of applicable day-to-day situations.

14.Informs patient beforehand of any outstanding co-pays and deductibles due at time of surgery.

15.Follows employee health, and other personnel and staffing policies.

16.Able to work as a team member.


Required Skills:
  • Past medical experience required, surgery scheduling preferred
  • Verbal and written communication skills to interact clearly with patients, vendors and other employees
  • Organization skills to keep accurate records and find important information quickly
  • Time management skills to prioritize and complete a side variety of tasks throughout the day
  • Patience and listening skills to respond appropriate and interact positively with upset patients
  • Interpersonal skills to create a pleasant experience for all patients, such as being personable and attentive
  • Multitasking and the ability to switch between tasks with ease
  • Past experience in a Medical office preferred but not required
  • Will train with right attitude

Pay: $18/HR-$22/HR.
