Alvarado Eye Surgery Center (also known as St. Vincent Eye Surgery Medical Center), is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) PreOp/PACU to join our dedicated team.

What You Will Do (Job Summary)

The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Monday-Friday work schedule

NO call required

NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO Holiday work hours

Free Parking

Pay Range: $45.00 - $65.00/hour depending on experience


Required Skills:

Required Skills/Education/Experience:

·Current Registered Nurse License to work in CA

·Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

·Minimum 2 years of experience in Pre-Op/PACU or Critical Care. Experience working in an ASC is a plus.

·Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.

·Excellent communication and organizational skills.

·Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative.

·Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient

·Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation

·Excellent teaching skills

·Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology

·Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.

 Current CPR, ACLS, PALS required.

Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred
