Position Overview:
The GI Technician plays a vital role in supporting physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety and procedural efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with GI procedures, including colonoscopies and endoscopies
- Prepare and maintain endoscopy equipment, ensuring proper function and sterilization
- Support physicians and nurses
- Monitor and assist patients before, during, and after procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to infection control protocols
- Stock and organize supplies to ensure a well-prepared procedure room
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Experience: Demonstrated longevity in past roles preferred (stability and reliability are highly valued)
- Previous experience as a GI Tech or Endoscopy Tech (preferred)
- Knowledge of sterile processing and medical equipment handling (preferred)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
