Insurance Verifier / Registration Clerk at Baylor Scott & White Surgicare Mansfield
The Registration Clerk interfaces with patients and families, physicians and staff. Admits patients and process their paperwork. Updates patient demographics/information in system. Collects monies due and documents in billing system. Handles funds per office procedure. You will have the opportunity to meet new people and build professional relationships with physician offices. Cross training for other Business Office positions.
- Interface with patients and families, physicians and staff.
- Update patient demographics/information in system.
- Verify insurance benefits, obtaining proper authorization from insurance carrier.
- Determine what funds to collect upon admission.
- Notify patients of monies due and document in billing system.
- Other duties as required or requested by chain of command
Qualifications
- High school Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years' previous insurance verification experience required
- Medical terminology and computer experience beneficial
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer Knowledge-Word and Excel preferred
