Arizona Spine and Joint Hospital is looking for an experienced Business Office Manager to join our team!
Under the immediate supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Business Office Manager is responsible for:
- Providing leadership and supervising the activities of the Business Office team.
- Specific areas of responsibility include: insurance verification, charge capture/billing, customer service, collection, insurance website administration, charge master maintenance, training direct reports, accounts receivable reporting and analysis, appeal management, clearing house, system maintenance, functions to ensure the revenue cycle goals and objectives are achieved.
- Ensuring that billing practices are in accordance with all State, Federal and local laws and that billing records for all patients are maintained in an accurate and confidential manner and that collection duties are accurately performed.
- Staff training and ensuring that policies and procedures affecting the hospital are developed and applied in a fair and equitable manner.
This role will also encompass day to day billing duties such as:
- The use of the Meditech system and reporting, posting charges to patient accounts based on system generated as well as manual charges identified by departments, issue bills via electronic billing in a timely and accurate manner to ensure appropriate processing by payer, and perform functions to close the period in the automated billing system.
- This position will also play a key role in the collection process for all Medicare and Medicaid accounts.
- The Supervisor works with medical records and case management to maintain accurate records to facilitate valid reports regarding billing and collections.

Required Skills:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred. Or, related Hospital BOM experience
- Five years’ supervisory experience in a medical setting; hospital, surgery center; physician’s office
- Proficiency in in accounting and ability to use computer-automated accounting systems
- Experience working with different types of third-party papers including HOM, PPO and Medicare/Medicaid, etc.
