Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) to join our endoscopy team. The Endoscopy RN will play a key role in delivering high-quality nursing care throughout the pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure phases for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. This position focuses on patient safety, close monitoring, and effective collaboration with the endoscopy team for optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the endoscopy suite, ensuring all equipment is sterilized, set up, and ready for each procedure.
- Conduct pre-procedure assessments to confirm patient readiness, addressing any concerns and educating patients on what to expect.
- Assist the endoscopy team during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and monitoring vital signs and sedation levels.
- Provide post-procedure care, monitoring recovery, and educating patients and families on aftercare, follow-up, and any necessary lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate closely with our physicians, anesthesiologists, and the broader healthcare team to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Maintain accurate, thorough patient records and adhere to healthcare regulations and facility policies.
Required Skills:
- Strong clinical and communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and multitask in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Proficiency in monitoring surgical patients and maintaining a sterile operating room environment.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond quickly to changes in patient conditions.
- Knowledge of endoscopic procedures and surgical protocols.
Required Experience:
- Current RN license in the state of Arizona (required).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an OR RN, preferably in a gastroenterology or endoscopy setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications (required).
- Experience with endoscopic or GI surgery centers (preferred).
- Familiarity with surgical instruments, sterilization techniques, and patient monitoring equipment.
