Patient Care Tech PRNs are an integral part of the surgical team, providing essential nursing care to patients during surgical cases. Their role requires a high level of accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced surgical environment. Patient Care Tech PRNs are responsible for ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care during surgery. Their ability to maintain a professional approach while providing nursing care is critical in ensuring positive patient outcomes while keeping patients and their families informed. Will work directly with surgeons, medical/surgical staff and post-acute caregivers to create comprehensive patient care from pre- to post-op. DESCRIPTION
Assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Required Skills:
Medical Assistant or clinical training preferred
One year experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified is preferred
Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories
Patient Interviewing skills
Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols
Knowledge of patient evaluation procedures
Ability to perform routine invasive procedures, such as venipuncture, and EKG
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
