Description:
The Payment Poster is responsible for accurate and timely payments to accounts, daily balancing, and reconciliation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Process credit card transactions.
  • Posts all responsible payments and adjustments to the specified patient account in accordance with the current policy and procedure.
  • Ensures accuracy of posting by balancing deposit totals to system-generated reports.
  • Properly close all assigned batches in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for manual cash posting.
  • Maintains daily logs and reconciliation.
  • Works with supervision, management and the patient accounting staff to improve processes, increase accuracy, create efficiencies, and achieve the overall goals of the department.
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality.
  • Work in a safe, compliant, and ethical manner always.
  • Performs other duties are requested or assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Prefer minimum of 2 years of patient account billing or payment posting experience is preferred
  • Experience with EMR software is helpful but not required
  • Prior experience with EFT cash posting process.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
