North Haven Surgery Center is hiring a full time  Scheduler / Insurance Verifier

At North Haven Surgery Center, we believe health and care are inseparable. We focus on offering a high quality, service oriented environment for your surgical procedure. Our technology allows surgeons to perform procedures in the specialty areas of: General Surgery, Gynecology, Otolaryngology (ENT), Pain Management, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Job Description:
Under the direction of the Business Office Manager, the primary responsibility of the Scheduler is having good working relationship with physician’s offices that perform surgery at surgery center and to obtain all patient pertinent information, insurance verification and schedule the surgery. The Scheduler follows through on all paperwork prior to the scheduled surgery.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in health care and minimum of one year experience in surgery scheduling procedures preferred.
  • Ability to work independently as well as function within a team; have a basic knowledge of surgery scheduling, receptionist and registration responsibilities; and must possess the ability to handle stress.
  • General familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and surgical procedures for an operating room.   
  • Must be able to use office equipment including phones, computer, fax, copier and credit card machines. 
  • Must have knowledge of customer service concepts and technique. 
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks effectively. 
  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly in person and by phone and establish and maintain cooperative relationships with patients, family, staff, physicians, and others. 
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Bilingual skills are a preferred.
