United Surgical Partners International (USPI), the country’s largest Ambulatory Surgery Center platform, is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer for Community Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.

Community Hospital has two campuses featuring a comprehensive range of medical services and high quality care. Community Hospital’s south campus is a full-service hospital serving Southwest Oklahoma City and the surrounding communities including Blanchard, Moore, Newcastle, Norman, Mustang and Tuttle. Community Hospital’s north campus celebrated the opening of its new facility in 2016 and offers inpatient and outpatient services, including diagnostic imaging and direct access to physician offices.  The north campus in conveniently located along the Broadway Extension near Britton Rd. and provides easy access from north Oklahoma City, Edmond, Piedmont, Guthrie, Jones, Luther and Wellston.

The South campus has 31 inpatient beds,  8 OR’s, 3 PR’s, an ICU and an ER. The ER receives 5,500 patients annually. The North campus has 14 inpatient beds, 8 OR’s, 2 PR’s and an ER. The ER receives 10 patients per month.There are 27,000 surgical cases done annually across all facilities. Surgical specialties include Orthopedics, Spine, GI, General Surgry, Breast, GYN, Urology, Interventional Pain, ENT and a da Vinci Robot Program.

The ideal candidate for this role will either have Surgical Hospital or other Hospital Leadership experience.

Job Summary

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) provides executive leadership for all nursing and clinical services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care. This role is responsible for clinical excellence, staffing strategy, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement across the organization. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the CNO partners with physicians, administrators, and the governing board to advance the hospital’s mission, strategic goals, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all nursing and clinical departments
  • Ensure safe, effective, and compliant patient care through evidence-based nursing practice
  • Develop and manage nursing staffing models, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Lead quality, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Partner with physicians, executive leadership, and the governing board on strategy and operations
  • Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and standards of nursing practice
  • Oversee talent development, performance management, and employee engagement
  • Integrate current research and best practices into nursing care delivery
  • Represent nursing services in medical staff, executive, and board meetings

Required Experience:

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (required)
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration (required)

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in a hospital setting
  • Proven leadership over multiple, complex nursing or clinical departments
  • Surgical background/leadership experience required
  • CNO experience and surgical hospital experience preferred

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active RN license in the state of practice
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
