What You’ll Be Doing

As our Surgery Scheduler, you’ll play an essential role in keeping our operating rooms running smoothly and efficiently. Your day will include:

  • Scheduling, rescheduling, and confirming surgical procedures using block and open time slots.

  • Entering and updating patient demographics and insurance information in Cerner.

  • Coordinating with physicians’ offices to confirm daily cases and collect missing information.

  • Communicating with departments regarding equipment needs, add-on cases, and insurance verification.

  • Tracking and submitting monthly case capture reports and projections.

  • Compiling and updating physician out-dates monthly and communicating to leadership.

  • Verifying insurance information when needed and supporting other departments with scheduling as requested.

  • Maintaining strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.

  • Participating in training and education to stay up to date on scheduling procedures and managed care contracts.


What We’re Looking For

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent

  • Preferred: Experience scheduling surgical cases in a healthcare setting

  • Familiarity with Cerner or other scheduling systems

  • Knowledge of managed care contracts and insurance verification

  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills

  • Ability to stay calm and accurate in a fast-paced environment

  • A genuine commitment to teamwork and patient service
