The Facility Services Support Technician (custodian) is a multi-skill position that performs a variety of tasks in support of the Facility Services Department.  The primary role of this position is to provide a security presence and perform floor care maintenance tasks, along with other tasks assigned to each individual person.

Essential Functions: 

  • Observes and promotes safe work practices and procedures.
  • After hours point of contact for Facility Services Department. 
  • Provides a first response to after-hours maintenance request.
  • Removes trash/linen/bio-waste, and stocks linen.
  • Performs security rounds.
  • Responds to emergency codes.
  • Completes task incident reports.
  • Cleans minor spills.
  • Provides routine floor care maintenance.
  • Makes surveillance rounds
  • Locks/unlocks doors.
  • Provides escort.
  • Spreads ice melt during winter weather
  • Removes liter from grounds.
  • Pressure washes, cleans windows, and any other tasks assigned, etc. 
  • Satisfactorily demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description as well as continually demonstrates competency in performing the job duties.

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must successfully pass criminal background check.
  • Must complete and/or take all required health screenings and vaccines.
