Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a registered nurse, performs delegated duties to assist in the surgical services area. Performs a variety of tasks including cleaning of operating rooms, stocking and disposal of linen and supply materials to ensure assigned areas are kept clean and adequately supplied.Always works as a team member within the entire facility.Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Performs duties including sweeping, mopping and dusting within the operating suite in an efficient manner.
- Assists in OR room turnovers.
- Assists materials manager in ordering and stocking supplies.
- Assists central sterile processing
- Satisfactorily demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description as well as continually demonstrates competency in performing the job duties.

- Reports to:OR Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing Perioperative Services, Director of Nursing Perioperative Services
- Supervises:none
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Previous health care experience preferred.
- Previous experience and knowledge in cleaning operating room environments
- AHA BLS required within 90 days of hire, if not currently certified.
Required Physical Demands:
- Strength (Lift, Carry, Push, Pull):Heavy Work (exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, or 50 lbs to 75 lbs of force constantly to move objects)
- Standing/Walking: Constantly; activity exists 2/3 or more of the time
- Keyboard/Dexterity: Occasionally; activity exists up to 1/3 of the time
- Talking (Must be able to effectively communicate verbally): Yes
- Seeing: Yes
- Hearing: Yes
- Color Acuity: No
Environmental Conditions:
- Level: High
- High exposure to hazardous risks and contaminants, including potential for exposure to infections materials, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, radiology and fluoroscopy equipment, chemicals, cleaning solvents, sterilization chemicals, sharps and wet floors.Hazards will be minimized if universal safety procedures are followed.Occasional exposure to outdoor climate.
