The Orthopedic Surgery Center of Arizona is hiring a full time OR Assistant.

USPI The Orthopedic Surgery Center of Arizona is a specialty inpatient hospital which was established to set a new standard for excellence and patient satisfaction in the delivery of orthopedic and spinal surgery. USPI The Orthopedic Surgery Center of Arizona provides excellent patient services and the highest level of care, with the overall goal of improving the delivery of healthcare in Maricopa County and beyond. Our singular focus is the state-of-the-art care of musculoskeletal conditions including joint replacement, spine surgery and other reconstructive procedures. USPI was founded in 1998 with a promise to deliver high-quality, lower-cost solutions in our communities, and in doing so, form collaborations with other like-minded institutions and physicians. Today we are the largest ambulatory surgery platform in the country, with more than 350 ambulatory surgery centers and 28 surgical hospitals. We are also part of Tenet Healthcare, a unique and diversified enterprise which enables us to have access to additional resources and a greater support system. We are looking for a Surgical Scrub Technologist for our Surgery Center.

Job Summary: 

Provides direct patient care by assisting patients with applying patient monitors in the operating room and assisting with the setup and takedown of surgical procedures. Assists in the turnover process in the operating room. Develops a system for the stocking of operating rooms and helping to get supplies, instruments, and equipment throughout the day. May also assist Materials Manager with stocking of supplies. Demonstrates the primary goal of efficiently providing surgical and/or procedural services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Knows and adheres to policies of the Center and demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
  • Follows standards, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for peri-operative nursing care according to accepted standards
  • Knows and adheres to Universal Protocol
  • Maintains and demonstrates current skills and knowledge in aseptic technique.
  • Demonstrates ability to understand the unique needs of each age group of the patient population.
  • Follows OSHA and other standards for protection against blood borne pathogens.
  • Seeks involvement in activities that promote professional growth and behavior.
  • Uses good body mechanics and aseptic technique.
  • Remains calm and functions as a team member during times of stress and crisis situations.
  • Informs Manager of applicable day-to-day situations.
  • Follows employee health and other personnel and staffing policies.

Required Skills:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Current CPR or BLS. CNA, MA or other certifications preferred.
  • Demonstrates necessary clinical competency.
