Responsibilities
Arizona West Endoscopy Center is seeking a motivated GI Registered Nurse Circulator to join our team. Arizona West Endoscopy Center is a fast-paced ASC environment committed to providing the highest quality care for patients and their families.
Job Summary
The GI Registered Nurse Circulator is a Registered Nurse that provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies. This position ensures safe, effective, and quality patient-family-centered care during GI procedures. The RN Circulator is responsible for assisting the surgical team and providing continuous patient assessment, ensuring all needs are met in a timely and professional manner. The RN Circulator supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization and reports to the Site Administrator.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients pre-operatively to ensure readiness for the procedure, including reviewing medical history, obtaining informed consent, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Prepare the GI procedure room by ensuring all necessary equipment, supplies, and medications are available and functioning properly.
- Maintain sterile technique and assist with positioning the patient in preparation for the procedure.
- Serve as a critical communication liaison between the patient, their family, the surgical team, and other healthcare professionals throughout the procedure.
- Monitor patient status continuously during the procedure, including vital signs, and respond to any changes or emergencies.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete, including intraoperative records and electronic health records.
- Assist with the administration of medications under physician direction, including sedation, anesthetics, and any necessary pain management.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide appropriate instruments and supplies in a timely manner.
- Conduct post-procedure assessments, monitor patients during recovery, and provide discharge instructions to patients and their families.
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards, safety protocols, and all regulatory requirements.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain up-to-date knowledge of GI procedures, best practices, and patient care standards.
We are looking for candidates experienced in supporting the following specialties, although not required: GI, General Surgery, Endoscopy, and Pain Management.
Required Skills:
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arizona (or compact state).
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
- Prior experience in GI, Endoscopy, or Surgical Nursing is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
