                                                    Sterile Processing Lead Technician

USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is currently hiring a Full Time Sterile Processing Lead Technician. 

USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is a specialty inpatient hospital which was established to set a new standard for excellence and patient satisfaction in the delivery of orthopedic and spinal surgery. Arizona Specialty Hospital provides excellent patient services and the highest level of care, with the overall goal of improving the delivery of healthcare in Maricopa County and beyond.

Job Summary:

  • Oversees sterilization of instruments.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, vendor reps and employees.
  • Collaborates with Lead Scrub technicians to prioritize workflow for sterile processing department and instrument turn over. 
  • Directs and coordinates all department activities to assure continuous monitoring of hospital-wide Performance Improvement.
  •  Implements and administers strategic goals, objectives, policies, procedures, new programs and services set forth by the Sterile Processing Manager.
  •  Ensures strategic goals are compatible with and enhance hospital overall goals and objectives. 
  •  Maintains a competent and motivated staff through appropriate training, discipline, and feedback as needed. 
  •  Develops staff through assessing performance and promoting education and training. Promotes employee empowerment and engagement.
  •  Interacts frequently with physicians, nurses, and other professional and non-professional staff members to provide quality sterile processing services.
  •  Promotes positive customer service attitude both within and outside the department by maintaining effective working relationships. Promotes win-win relationships with internal and external customers.
  •  Ensures all department products and services are provided in accordance with hospital needs and expectations.
  •  Identifies and implements methods for reducing expenditures, leads teams and contributes to efforts to improve standardization and utilization, resulting in increased efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Required Skills:

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent 
  • 3 years of experience as Sterile Processing Technician.
  • Experience with all types of sterilizers.
  • Certification Required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of operation room instrumentation
  • Ability to set up operating room instrument tray
  • Must possess effective organizational, communication, team building and human relation skills.
  • Ability to function effectively with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
