Responsibilities
Hacienda Surgery Center is seeking a qualified Licensed Vocational Nurse LVN-PRN for a Multi-Specialty Surgery Center
Hacienda Surgery Centeris a fast-paced, multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.
What You Will Do (Job Summary):
The LVN will assume the following Pre-Admission responsibilities: Contact by way of telephone, all patients prior to surgery or procedures to assess medical and medication history, review for appropriate labs, EKG’s, and medical clearances. Assesses information/documents and maintaining confidentiality. Responsible to perform pre-op calls to all Surgical/Procedural patients. Responsible to complete anesthesia review sheet after chart review for any patients that need further evaluation from anesthesia for either BMI/EKG/Labs or other co-morbities in the H&P. Alert medical director/anesthesia to any cases that may not be appropriate for the ambulatory surgery center. Use the center cell phone to contact medical director as needed to obtain clearance for any pending cases. Work with doctors and their offices to ensure optimal interventions.. Attend required staff meetings and in services PRN. Accountable to Pre-op/PACU Manager
Monday-Friday daytime work schedule
NO call required
NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO Holiday work hours
Starting pay is $35 - $42/hour depending on experience
Required Skills:
Qualifications:
- Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical/procedural patient
- Must be a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with an unrestricted license in the state of CA
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
- Current BLS, ALS accredited by AHA
- Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
- Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians
