Portland, Oregon East Portland Surgery Center (12531)East Portland Surgery Center has an opening for a full time Patient Access Representative.
East Portland Surgery Center is one of Portland’s leading multi-specialty surgery centers, performing cases in pain management, GI, general surgery, orthopedics, urology, plastics, ophthalmology, gynecology, ENT & Spine. Our facility is accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
What You Will Do (Job Summary):
This position is responsible for covering any aspect of the business office necessary. Key duties include patient registration, insurance benefits communication, patient outreach, and chart preparation. Coordinates provider communication and documentation management, including the collection, review, and distribution of patient records to support timely coding, billing, and revenue cycle objectives. Facilitates medical records coordination and serves as a liaison with the Central Billing Office to ensure accurate and timely claim submission and reimbursement.
This position provides cross-functional support to business office operations and performs additional duties as assigned by the Business Office Manager to promote the efficient and effective operation of the ambulatory surgery center.
Successful candidates will possess outstanding multi-tasking abilities, communication and teamwork as well as the ability to keep up in a fast-paced working environment. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate previous successful/positive customer service encounters or programs.
Monday - Friday daytime work hours. This position will be in the surgical center.

Required Skills:
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
·High School Diploma or GED
·2+ years hospital or medical office experience required
·Familiarity with medical terminology and coding.
·Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients and insurance providers.
·Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
·Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and other relevant software.
