Job Summary: The Receptionist is responsible for greeting visitors and delivering exceptional customer service assistance. This entails answering calls and fielding them accordingly, addressing visitor questions and needs, and providing an overall welcoming environment. This person also performs ad hoc administrative duties as needed.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
·Patient admissions, to include basic screening of patients upon arrival, checking in patients, copying identification and insurance, and communication with Pre-Op nursing staff
·Welcome visitors in a warm and friendly manner, and answer any questions visitors have
·Maintain reception area and all common areas in a clean and tidy manner at all times
·Answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner, transfer calls to appropriate department / team member, and take messages if necessary
·Performs clerical duties, including distribution of mail and messages, monitoring office supplies & re-stock as necessary, and maintain postage meter
·Keep detailed and accurate records of facility visitors, including basic screening (if required)
·Maintain the general office filing system
·Processing patient payments, and directing patients to billing office if they require further account assistance
·Facilitate chart preparation
·Provide relief to other office team members as required
·May provide help to other Portland area USPI facilities if required

Required Skills:
Job Qualifications:
·Experience in providing exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, and team
·High School Diploma or GED
·2+ years of experience in a clinical environment preferred
·2+ years of receptionist experience preferred
·Self-motivated, flexible, and able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment, with the ability to problem solve with minimal direction or guidance
·Proven history as a team player, and also working with little to no supervision
·Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
·Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
·Prefer experience with medical software programs such as Advantx, Amkai, or Epic
·Efficient use of resources
·Willingness to maintain a clean, organized environment
·Consistent, reliable attendance
·Reliable means of transportation
